Not An Upcycle Thing But Near And Dear To My Heart

While the particular link that I am going to share is not about up-cycling, it is about something that is also very near and dear to my heart.

Equine Outreach of Bend, Oregon is a great local organization that does wonderful things to rescue and rehabilitate horses and is run by volunteers and depends on donations. Part of being responsible inhabitants of our planet is to care for the four legged friends that cannot care for themselves especially when they have been the victim of someone else's neglect or cruelty.

Please take a moment and visit their website http://www.equineoutreach.com/ and if you can show them some love and support in whatever way possible. On behalf of the animals that depend on this organization I thank you and may God bless you for your kindness.

Newly Upcycled And Could Be Headed To Etsy

The latest upcycle project to come out of my studio I have to admit was one I really had a lot of fun with. With glue gun in hand, a repurposed shadow box frame, scraps of pretty papers, some paint, and twigs from my garden and presto an art piece ready for display. The idea courtesy of Mark Montano's "Big Ass Book Of Crafts", one of my favorite reads. Now to decide whether to keep it or offer it up on Etsy...hmmmm

Pay It Forward Day

A friend shared this on Facebook this morning, and I felt compelled to share it. Being kind to the environment and each other goes hand in hand. You never know when a simple act of kindness will make a world of difference in someone's day.

David's 2nd Annual
Pay It Forward Day
December 1st, 2010

‘Tis the Season! A random act of kindness goes a long way so…PAY IT FORWARD!!!

What can you do? ON DEC. 1st...
• Pay for someone’s cup of coffee…
• Buy someone some groceries…
• Get the next person’s gas…
• Help someone out…
• Donate something…
• Be creative!!!

When you do something kind for someone there’s a good chance they’ll do something for someone else. If not, at least you’ve done a good deed for someone.

So on December 1st share some kindness and spread some joy! It can be as little as a few dollars, no dollars at all or as much as you want. No one needs to know! Join me, won’t you?

(I'm trying to make this a national event so spread the word. Maybe one day it'll be a nationally recognized day!) ~David Del Mundo

I hope this inspires others to share, be kind and pay it forward!
